About the Opportunity
A well-established and highly regarded general contractor is seeking a talented Assistant Project Manager to join their team on an exciting new ground-up multifamily development in Goodyear, AZ. This is a confidential search on behalf of the hiring organization.
The project consists of a 400-unit, garden-style apartment community, a signature development that will require a driven, detail-oriented construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality multifamily projects on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in overseeing all phases of construction for a 400-unit garden-style multifamily development from preconstruction through close-out.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure work is completed per schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Review and process submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update project schedules using industry-standard scheduling tools.
- Conduct regular site walks to monitor progress, identify issues, and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Support procurement efforts including scope reviews, bid leveling, and subcontract execution.
- Facilitate communication between the field team, ownership, architects, and engineers.
- Assist with project cost reporting, forecasting, and budget management.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Help manage project closeout including punch lists, commissioning, and turnover documentation.
Requirements
- Multifamily construction experience is required; candidates without multifamily project experience will not be considered.
- 3–7 years of experience in a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager role within the construction industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors, processing RFIs/submittals, and tracking project budgets.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project) is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface professionally with owners, architects, and subcontractors.
- Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of Arizona building codes and local construction practices is advantageous.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
