About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a Traveling Assistant Superintendent to join a growing general contractor with a strong pipeline of multifamily and student housing developments across the Southeast.
The selected candidate will initially support the completion of a student housing project in Baton Rouge, LA scheduled to deliver in July 2027. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, high-profile multifamily developments while gaining long-term project continuity with a builder that has multiple projects lined up in key university markets.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Superintendent with daily onsite construction operations for ground-up multifamily and student housing projects
- Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and according to plans and specifications
- Monitor quality control and workmanship across all trades
- Help manage site logistics, material deliveries, and workforce coordination
- Conduct daily jobsite walks to track progress and identify potential issues
- Assist with schedule updates and look-ahead planning (2–3 week schedules)
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company safety policies
- Support project documentation including RFIs, inspections, punch lists, and progress reporting
- Work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, and ownership representatives
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of construction field experience, preferably on multifamily or student housing projects
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and subcontractor coordination
- Willingness to travel and relocate to project locations as needed
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar) is a plus
Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
