About the Opportunity:
A well-established construction company is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead a brand-new wood frame multifamily project in Providence, Rhode Island. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned construction professional looking to take on a leadership role with a respected organization known for delivering high-quality residential developments.
Position Summary:
The Superintendent will oversee all aspects of this high-density residential project, working closely with construction leadership to coordinate and supervise trades, manage schedules, and ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience from the multifamily construction industry and demonstrate exceptional organizational and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Coordinating with building officials and inspectors to schedule required inspections and tests throughout the project lifecycle</li>
<li>Identifying potential project risks related to safety, scheduling, site conditions, and subcontractor performance, and recommending effective solutions</li>
<li>Supervising assigned trades and monitoring subcontractor work to ensure compliance with contract specifications and quality standards</li>
<li>Preparing comprehensive punch lists and ensuring completion of all items prior to inspections and final acceptance</li>
<li>Developing and maintaining project schedules to track work progress and completion milestones</li>
<li>Leading weekly safety meetings and subcontractor coordination meetings, maintaining accurate meeting minutes</li>
<li>Reviewing construction plans to identify and resolve conflicts, errors, or inconsistencies</li>
<li>Verifying critical dimensions and layouts to ensure compliance with approved plans and applicable building codes</li>
<li>Maintaining organized project documentation in accordance with company standards</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li>
<li>Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred</li>
<li>Minimum 5 years of experience in multifamily construction is required</li>
<li>Proven track record of successfully managing subcontractors and coordinating construction activities</li>
</ul>
Skills &amp; Knowledge:
<ul>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Procore construction management software</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Thorough understanding of construction procedures, building codes, and trade-specific work</li>
<li>Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes including handicap accessibility, fair housing, ANSI standards, waterproofing, environmental/AQI requirements, and acoustics</li>
<li>Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities</li>
<li>Superior organizational and time-management skills</li>
<li>OSHA 30 certification preferred</li>
<li>First Aid training and certification preferred</li>
</ul>
Compensation &amp; Benefits:

<li>Base Salary: Up to $190,000 (commensurate with experience)</li>
<li>Performance Bonus: Up to 10% annually</li>
